Betaxolol is a beta-1 selective beta-blocker that decreases aqueous humour production via beta-adrenoreceptor blockade in the ciliary body.
Management of glaucoma. It can be used alone or in combination with other topical glaucoma drugs, such as a topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Betaxolol can be used in the prophylactic management of glaucoma in the other eye of dogs with unilateral primary closed angle glaucoma.
