Lymphoid tumour cells are not able to synthesize asparagine and are dependent upon supply from the extracellular fluid. Crisantaspase deprives malignant cells of this amino acid, which results in cessation of protein synthesis and cell death.
Main indication is treatment of lymphoid malignancies.
