Cellulose based tear substitute (lacrimomimetic).
Lubrication of dry eyes. In cases of keratoconjunctivitis (KCS or dry eye) it will improve ocular surface lubrication, tear retention and patient comfort while lacrostimulation therapy (e.g. topical ciclosporin) is initiated. It may also be used as a vehicle base for compounding ophthalmic drugs. Patient compliance is poor if used >q4h, consider using a longer acting tear replacement.
