Ropinirole is a full dopamine agonist selective for D2-type receptors. Applied as ophthalmic drops, it is absorbed through the conjunctiva and stimulates D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CRTZ) in the brain, inducing emesis. First and only FDA-approved emetic for dogs.
