Anaesthesia induced by the CNS depressant effect of the alfaxalone.
Termination of pregnancy in bitches up to 45 days and in queens up to 35 days after mating. In bitches confirmed as pregnant, a partial abortion may occur in up to 5%; owners should be warned. A clinical examination (uterine palpation) is always recommended 10 days after treatment and at least 30 days after mating in order to confirm termination.
