Antiprotozoal drug. This drug is a vitamin B1 or thiamine structural analogue. Amprolium antagonizes thiamine in parasites and is used for treatment of coccidiosis.
Amprolium is used to control and treat coccidiosis in calves, sheep, goats, puppies, and birds. It is administered orally, often mixed with food.
