Methylates nucleic acids and inhibits DNA, RNA and protein synthesis.
Management of lymphoproliferative diseases (e.g. relapsed lymphoma), melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma. Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. Can cause severe pain and extensive tissue damage with extravasation, and therefore must be administered via a preplaced i.v. catheter.
