The longer term effects on immune system autoregulation may be associated with a reaction with a number of membrane receptors on T cells, B cells and monocytes, which are pertinent to autoreactivity and induction of tolerance to self.
Treatment of severe immune-mediated diseases in dogs where other treatments have failed. Efficacy has been demonstrated in immune-mediated thrombocytopenia; however, the use in immune- mediated haemolytic anaemia is more controversial. Its use has not been investigated for other immune-mediated diseases. Expensive: use should therefore be reserved for exceptional cases.
