Frunevetmab is a felinized anti-nerve growth factor (anti-NGF) monoclonal antibody (IgG). It binds to and neutralizes NGF, preventing NGF from binding to its receptors (TrkA and p75NTR), thereby blocking pain signal transmission from arthritic joints to the central nervous system. NGF is elevated in cats with OA and plays a key role in pain sensitization.
