會陰尿道造口術（PU）為貓下泌尿道阻塞的常用手術。將較寬的骨盆段尿道在會陰部建立永久開口，繞過狹窄的陰莖段尿道。主要適用於反覆尿道阻塞的公貓。
貓亦有適應症但頻率較犬低。
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is staged using IRIS guidelines (Stages 1-4) based on creatinine/SDMA and sub-staged by proteinuria (UPC) and blood pressure. Early detection via SDMA allows intervention before creatinine rises. Protein-losing nephropathy is overrepresented in Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers and Bernese Mountain Dogs.

建議數日內就診評估，非立即危及生命但不宜拖延 (evaluation within days recommended, not immediately life-threatening)
手術預後良好。術後尿道阻塞復發率大幅降低。泌尿道感染風險略增。狹窄為主要術後併發症。
Diagnostic Approach for Perineal Urethrostomy
Assess for dysuria, hematuria, pollakiuria, stranguria; palpate bladder and kidneys
Complete urinalysis via cystocentesis; urine culture and sensitivity for bacterial infection
Abdominal radiographs and ultrasound to evaluate urinary tract for calculi, masses, or structural changes
