Sarolaner is an isoxazoline ectoparasiticide that inhibits GABA and glutamate-gated chloride channels in arthropods. Systemically distributed after oral administration; parasites are exposed when feeding on the treated host. Causes uncontrolled neuromuscular activity leading to paralysis and death of fleas, ticks, and mites.
Treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations in dogs. Available as Simparica (sarolaner alone) and Simparica Trio (sarolaner + moxidectin + pyrantel pamoate for heartworm, fleas, ticks, roundworms, hookworms).
