膠質瘤為起源於腦實質膠質細胞的原發性腦腫瘤，包括星形膠質細胞瘤（astrocytoma）與寡突膠質細胞瘤（oligodendroglioma）。犬隻短頭種（brachycephalic breeds）好發。膠質瘤位於腦實質內，手術完整切除通常困難。放射治療為主要治療方式。
貓隻膠質瘤少見。腦膜瘤與淋巴瘤在貓隻更常見。
犬隻膠質瘤為常見原發性腦腫瘤。短頭種好發（Boxer、Boston Terrier、English Bulldog、French Bulldog）。

長期計畫：癲癇每 6 月抽血追蹤藥物濃度 + 肝功能
嚴格限制
嚴格限制活動 (cage rest / crate rest)，尤其 IVDD 術後
期間：IVDD 術後 6-8 週，癲癇穩定後可漸進恢復
未治療中位存活時間約 2-4 個月。僅類固醇與抗癲癇中位存活約 3-6 個月。放射治療後中位存活約 12-18 個月。手術切除 + 放射治療可能延長存活。高度惡性膠質瘤（glioblastoma）預後最差。低度惡性膠質瘤放射治療反應較好。
