Feline asthma (allergic bronchitis) is common, presenting with cough, wheeze, and expiratory effort. Thoracic radiographs show bronchial pattern with lung hyperinflation. Inhaled fluticasone via AeroKat spacer is the preferred long-term therapy. Differentiate from heartworm-associated respiratory disease (HARD).
Brachycephalic breeds (Bulldog, Pug, French Bulldog) are predisposed to upper airway obstruction (BOAS). Chronic bronchitis is common in middle-aged to older small breed dogs. Tracheal collapse frequently affects Yorkshire Terriers and Pomeranians.
